It has a stiff felt backing to protect furniture and has been sealed for durability. Not recommended for hot dishes or the dishwasher, but easily cleaned with a damp cloth. The accompanying easel is the perfect way to display your tile. The black wood is a neutral that would coordinate well with any décor. It measures about 5.5" tall.
